and then there are wonderful things

Two of our dear friends, the previously mentioned L who loves demolition derby, and her husband D, became an aunt and uncle for the second time today! L's brother and sister-in-law gave birth to their first child, a beautiful and healthy baby boy this morning.

Although the birth of a baby is always a happy day, today was especially touching because this same couple suffered through two terrible late-stage miscarriages and have been wanting and praying for this baby for a long long time.

So CONGRATULATIONS to the new aunt and uncle and the new parents! I know I wasn't alone in crying tears of joy when I heard the news! Welcome to the world baby! You are so loved!

Hi there! Thanks for the wonderful comments you left at my place. I'm glad you like the floor. It was a lot of work, especially since the area is so large, but it was well worth the effort. I don't think that "italian/tuscan" feel will fully come out until we have the appropriate decor up, i.e., a mural (maybe an arch or vineyard?), grapevine, grapes, maybe some wine bottles, etc.

We lived in Boston about 15 years ago! My husband went to the Art Institute! Just loved living there; we first lived in Natick, then Newton. Are you enjoying it?

Thanks again for the great comments! Would love to see pictures of your floor, too!
