merry christmas... no winners yet

I wish I could tell you that I'm holding out on you, but not quite yet! Baby is still contentedly hanging around inside, although the contractions pick up and fade away regularly. We were up all night last night with contractions that were just reaching the peak of real pain and came at 4-5 minutes for a few hours. This morning, though, I went for a 2 hour walk to see if the exercise would push them to get stronger, but when we stopped walking, they faded away.

The real problem, I suspect, is that I'm still feeling great and still happy to have baby stick around for a while longer. Josh, on the other hand, is going a little bit stir crazy. He is dying to meet his baby, and he walks around mumbling that I'm clearly keeping the baby inside just to spite him. Last night was the first night that my sleep was interrupted for the majority of the night, but I still got a few hours of sleep and then took a 2 hour nap this afternoon, so I'm not suffering.

Last night we went to a Christmas Eve party, and I think no one could quite believe that I was still walking around contentedly, enjoying the food and festivities. I'm definitely big, don't get me wrong. I regularly wonder how this child is going to actually EXIT my body, because my belly seems to be taking over my whole body. You're sure it fits, right?

Anyway, to appease Josh, we've taken some preliminary action to let baby know that this process needs to be speeded along. I'll let you know if it works.

In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy the final perks of pregnancy. This, and the back rubs. Wish me luck! Oh, and a baby!

this one is up to the baby, more or less. babies don't DO scheduling! hope she or he comes reasonably soon -- the contractions sound like a good sign.

Love the sign! Are yoiu by any chance a real estate attorney? LOL!
I'd hoped the reason we hadn't heard from you was that baby had come, but oh well, maybe by New Years!

Oh my God, HILARIOUS!!!

Well, today's the day I start bouncing around and drinking tea to get this kid out, so maybe we should sit them both down and explain the physical ramifications of remaining "inside" past due? Also, try promising a pony...it worked for Lady. ;)

Oh! But I can't wait to meet him (or her)!!!

So glad that you all are well ~ I know it must be trying, all the waiting. That eviction notice is beyond funny, but even funnier is the the assumption that you, as parents are "the management."

Very, very best wishes.

ooh, so there's still hope for me to be the winner! ;) i'm sure your contractions are making good progress for you and getting you ready for the real deal. enjoy these last few days of kicks from the inside.

thinking of you. :) hugs!

As long as you are still sleeping well, keep that baby in as long as you can and stock up ;) Trust me, once s/he is out and about you will not sleep for a very long time. It's worth it, though, I promise.

Merry Christmas to all of you! Let us know how that eviction notice works.

I hope that you're enjoying the remainder of your pregnancy. That eviction notice sign is *so* funny! What a neat idea for a picture! :) Gosh, it seems like yesterday when we were celebrating Halloween and I was wishing myself a happy due date! :)

A belated merry Christmas! Can't wait to hear about the baby's arrival; I'll be praying that all goes smoothly for you.

Wow ... I was sure you'd have had that baby by now! How many times have you heard that? Groan.... We had contractions on Christmas as well ... hours and hours of them 10-15 minutes apart, but when we got to the hospital, the little stinker stopped all motion. So we're waiting too!

Good luck to you!!!

We need an update!!

I thought for SURE when we didn't hear from you for a bit that you'd already had the baby, but s/he is being very tenacious and staying warm inside there like a hobo squatter during a blizzard!

Maybe you've had the baby by now....We're all waiting, and absolutely besides ourselves with anticipation!

Wonder who's closest in the "pool"? :)

Oh -- also forgot to mention that the eviction notice was a total HOOT! Make sure you save a copy of that for the baby book! :)
