1. Do you wear socks to bed?
a. Yes, my toes are freezing cold and my significant other is a selfish bastard that refuses to let me warm them up against him or her.b. Yes, I'm "pathetic"** and I like my socks. In fact, I have several different types and colors depending upon the temperatures.
c. No, my significant other is a kind and considerate person that emits enough heat as to allow me to snuggle my chilly feet against her or him.
d. HAVE YOU GONE MAD? The very notion of wearing socks to bed is strange and unnerving, I particularly would not have "relations" with someone wearing socks. EWWWWWW.
Discuss amongst you.
** This does not reflect the views of the management here at Lots and Lots of Nonsense, who finds having different types and colors of socks perfectly normal. Hrumph.

(c) and (d). my husband's body temperature typically hovers at 105 degrees so i just swing my cold feet to his side of the bed and voila! with respect to (d), socks are fine in bed if you're sleeping but not so for hanky panky.
A...yes I wear them, but like Karan, take them off when they get warm. Incidentally, I wear them because I feel bad subjecting the boy to my feet...even though (albeit grumbling) he has yet to kick me out of bed for warming my feet up on him ;)
(C) Nope I am a lucky gal and get to snuggle. Although wearing your socks for sex....now that is something to talk about!! Love your blog, you got lots going on, and I love reading.
P.S. you have been tagged, read my blog.
(a)(modified). No SO; normally at home, no socks (dogs instread); here in Temporary Location, it's freezing at night and my dogs aren't with me, so you better believe I wear socks to bed.
okay, I confess. I wear socks to bed and yes, I have different warmth level socks and different colors. And even worse, sometimes I wear two layers of socks, cotton next to my sensitive skin and wool on the outside for warmth. Even with all that, my feet are still always like ice.
My answer varies. In the summer, no. It gets very HOT here, and I wouldn't be able to survive if I wore socks. But, during the winter, my feet get so dry that they crack and bleed, and I often need to really slather my feet with lotion and put on "moisture booties." It really messes with me, too...I have the habit of sleeping with one foot out of the covers as my "temperature gauge." It helps me to not overheat, and wearing socks throws it off.
That's probably WAY more information about me than you ever wanted to know, right? :)
Um, I wear socks to bed except in the summer. I had no idea that was considered pathetic by the better sort of blogger.
yeah, i wear socks to bed, too... although in the warmer months i tend to only wear one. my husband thinks this is most entertaining. i just think it's logical.
I wear socks to bed when it's really cold; at some point, though, they must come off because I can't sleep well with socks on. So I guess I'm a "b" and a "d".
OH NO! I just used Karen from Chookoloonks as an example of what Josh thinks. Her blog is fantastic, I highly recommend it.
Josh is one of these D sorts of people. In fact, he refuses to engage in any form of hanky panky if I won't take off socks. He says wearing socks stinks, and I say he's a weirdo. Clearly.
Off, although sometimes I wear them to bed and rip them off in the middle of the night. So, d. Sort of.
Hello! De-Lurking to say that I do wear socks to bed, since I get up in the middle of the night with a newborn. My husband HATES it, but I hate walking around the cold house at night barefoot more.
(E) I myself have no desire to wear socks to bed, but wouldn't let someone else's socks interfer with gettin' jiggy with it. So tell Josh he's a freak with severe foot issues.
Nope dont wear socks to bed. My answer is C!
I, too, have been told by my partner that I am freakish for wearing socks to bed. Cold feet, year round. Year sof having uncarpeted floors in the bedroom. Yucky dry feet in winter that often require night lotion. etc etc.
I don't have different colors or weights, though. But now that you mention it, it *is* a wonderful idea!! heh heh heh.
Around here, there have been no comments about socks and, as bigslowgirl puts it, "hanky panky."
And, finally: Do you think the socks-thing is maybe a girl-thing? Most of the what's-wrong-with-socks-camp here seem to be women, while the socks-are-you-nuts? group (both present and merely represented by bedmates) are men. Hm.
Ewwwww!! You wear socks to bed? That's totally gross.
Ok, maybe not gross exactly. I'm closer to Corndog's position on the socks thing. But I would never wear socks to bed, no matter how cold it is. I generally sleep in boxers and that's it. Now that heating prices have gone up so high we're keeping it pretty cold in the house, so I've only recently managed to learn how to sleep while wearing a t-shirt, but even that usually makes me uncomfortable.
Another sock-wearing-sleeper here, at least many nights. I hate having cold feet. Cold feet do not promote amorous intentions.
De-Lurking to say that M answer is "D" - Absolutely wrong in every way possibly! Very funny post, though!
C and D: Andiclaus is a superhot sleeper. He doesn't really want me to put my feet on him at night, but since I'm pregnant he lets me anyway. I don't really even wear socks during the daytime. Not even in the winter. I kind of think socks are creepy.
I start out with socks, but wiggle them off once I am warm enough.
Mine is a mix between C (for the body heat) and E (although he emits wonderful body heat his feet are generally freezing and he wears socks to bed, and when he doesn't he likes to chill me).
I only wear socks to bed if it's really really cold. I hate having anything on my feet, so when I get home, I take off shoes and socks. I have a KILLER collection of socks though. Lauren wears socks to bed, but never during sex. I definitely agree with Josh.
Ok so I am delurking here....
Ummm NO no socks, well or anything else for that matter!
No socks.
Down comforter and electic mattress pad.
(e) I like having naked feet -- even though I sleep with only dogs and cats. :-)
I am a D for sure.
I have the p.o. box for 6 months but expect things to trickle in over the next month.
woops, I was talking about the blogging baby shower. sorry. didn't realize how random my comment was until I reread it.
The idea of wearing socks to bed grosses me out but um, yes i have had relations with socks on.
Sometimes I wear socks. I mean, even if I am completely naked, the socks are the very last item of clothing to go.
Until about 3 weeks ago I would have answered NO, NEVER - but for Xmas I got these chinelle (sp?) super soft socks from my SIL. OMG -LOVE THEM.. so cozy and soft.. and yes, I have been sleeping in them.
Up until recently I was no socks. Like klee, one of my feet stuck bare out of the covers, but post-Muffin Man, I can't seem to get my feet warm. So I often wear my defiant socks to bed. If they're dirty, I wear my hospital booties.
Mr. Spock is now and has always been a socks to bed person.
Socks, must have socks, especially in the winter.
I used to think wearing socks was weird. I had a boyfriend who did because he thought his feet were ugly. In my first apartment with hardwood floors, I had to have socks.
I keep living in these drafty old houses--damn the newell post too.
my answer is (a) with some modifications. my SO would let me warm my feet on him (after shrieking like a little girl), but we don't exactly sleep close enough. we sleep with 2 queen mattresses on the floor next to each other so as to have a giant family bed.
so i wear socks to bed and usually strip them off half-way thru the night when my feet have sufficiently warmed.
Sometimes A, but as Karan, I peel them off when I get warm.
(a) and (b) and they often come off if my feet get too warm. And yes, I have lots of socks, but am very particular about which ones come to bed with me.
SOCKS!?!?!? People, come on! Every night I get into bed at least 5 minutes before halloweenlover. I use my own body heat to warm the sheets. She comes in after brushing her teeth and washing her face with the coldest of cold water. Then it happens, she crawls into bed and places her feet on my legs and her cold hands on my back! Why, oh why am I being punished this way!!
Oh, and socks on while having relations...forget about it! (say with thick Italian accent)
A! Socks 4ever.
Hmmm. Sometimes socks, but never during the "marital relation".
Usually no socks. I like uninhibited feet.
That was Terrances only job when I was in labor. To keep the nurses from putting anything on my feet.
My answer is a combination of a,b and d.
B. I have many wonderful, colorful socks that I wear around the house and even sometimes to work.
D. I HATE wearing socks to bed.
A. My hubby is a selfish bastard who won't let me warm my feet against him, but I suffer the cold because I just can't wear socks to bed. It just feels WRONG!
A, always A. My feet are miserable little icicles! I would not inflict them upon any man nor beast.
I don't wear socks to bed, but The Attorney does...but there are certain circumstances in bed under which they are not permissible.
A & C. it varies. wintertime, usually.
On the nights I choose "C", Mike will scream like a little girl, "Jesus, Icicles!" and throw my feet off. And I will throw them back on, and then he will shove them off.
Sometimes he is nice about it tho.
Usually C--depending on just how cold my feet are. When they turn to ice blocks, I'm on my own. (I still won't wear socks, though, because it makes me feel like an old woman.)
i'm sorry, but i have to choose "D"!
A... in the winter
It depends....in the winter, if my feet are cold, I will - but I usually pull them off in my sleep during the night.
One thing I do NOT tolerate with socks, though, is sex. If bodies are completely "nekid", socks only looks ridiculous!
Here are six words that could end this whole debate: heated mattress pad with dual controls. I can't fall asleep if my feet are cold, so I used to wear socks to bed in the winter, which my husband thought was heinous. But last winter I bought a heated mattress pad that I use to warm up the bed before I crawl into it. It has dual controls, so my husband, who is always hot, and I, who am always cold, finally can have the amount of warmth that we each like. Now when I slide my cold sockless feet between the covers...ahhhhh...it's all toasty and heavenly. Seriously, I love that heated mattress pad. As far as creature comforts go, it just might be the best purchase that I have ever made.
